Men's Soccer Caps Season with Scoreless Draw vs. Stony Brook

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.— The William & Mary men's soccer team dominated the shot column 19-6 but ended up drawing Stony Brook to close out the season 0-0. The Tribe finished the regular season 2-8-6, 1-4-3 CAA.

Lucas Caldas set the tone early on, taking a pair of shots in the 7th minute but the first was saved and the second missed wide.

Cole McNally made the start in net for the Tribe and made his first of the three saves on the night in the 11th minute to keep it scoreless.

As the half wore on W&M kept looking to make the most of their chances, with Alfredo Bozalongo and Jack Crocco getting shots on net, but both were saved and the game went to the half tied.

McNally made three saves in the first half. W&M led in shots 7-5 through 45 minutes.

The Tribe kept up the pressure in the second half, outshooting the Seawolves 12-1 in the frame, but once again struggled to beat the SBU keeper.

One close call for the Tribe came in the 59th minute when Gabe Ruitenberg shook free to take a shot that beat the goalie but rattled the left post and stayed out.

The Green and Gold rattled the frame again in the 80th minute when Bozalongo tried to break the tie from the top of the box. His attempt skipped off the crossbar, however.

W&M also got five tries on goal in the second half, but all of those shots were saved as the game finished up in a 0-0 draw. The sixth tie for the Tribe in 2023.
