WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Just over a month away from the start of the 2023-24 season, William & Mary men's and women's basketball will host their annual Tip-Off Banquet on Friday, Oct. 27, at the Williamsburg Lodge.

Fans, donors and alums are invited to kick-off the year with the Tribe and get to meet the Green and Gold programs. The banquet begins at 6 p.m. and the cost per ticket is $125. Registration is available online for this special event.

For more information about the Tip-Off Banquet, please contact Jenna Beattie, Director of Signature Events, at jbeattie01@wm.edu.

In head coach Erin Dickerson Davis's first season, the Tribe women matched a program-record with 12 CAA wins on the way to 18 total victories. The Green and Gold was the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and advanced to the semifinals of postseason play for the sixth time in program history—defeating Hofstra in the quarterfinals. W&M returns a pair of starters from a season ago in senior Rebekah Frisby-Smith and sophomore Alexa Mikeska. The Green and Gold welcomes six newcomers, including a trio of transfers in graduate student Nylah Young and juniors Bella Nascimento and Anahi-Lee Cauley.

On the men's side, W&M's 7.5-game improvement last season ranked second in the CAA and among the top 30 in the country. Head coach Dane Fischer's squad advanced to the quarterfinals of the CAA Tournament behind a 73-51 win over Elon in March. W&M returns a trio of starters in juniors Gabe Dorsey, Noah Collier and Matteus Case and nine letterwinners from the 2022-23 season. The Tribe roster includes five newcomers, including a trio of transfers in graduate student Sean Houpt, junior Caleb Dorsey and sophomore Trey Moss.

Following the Tip-Off Banquet, W&M basketball opens the season with a doubleheader on Monday, Nov. 6. The Tribe women kick off the year against in-state foe Norfolk State at 5 p.m. with the men's game to follow against Regent University at 7:30 p.m. Visit TribeAthletics.com for ticket information or call the W&M ticket office at (757) 221-3340.
