Field Hockey Shuts Out VCU, Wins in Overtime

RICHMOND, Va. – Graduate student Audrey Domovich scored the lone goal of Sunday's contest in the first two minutes of overtime to secure a win for William & Mary Field Hockey at VCU.

The Tribe earn their first shutout of the year, snapping VCU's seven-game win streak and giving the Rams only their third loss of the season, to improve to 6-7 on the season.

Maddie George made one save in the net for the Tribe, as the defense limited the Rams to only one shot on goal in their five attempts throughout the contest.

In a game that was quiet throughout regulation, the teams entered overtime in a scoreless game with a combined six shots on goal.

Defensive plays highlighting the regulation minutes, the Tribe flipped on the offensive switch entering overtime, scoring on the first shot attempt by either team in the overtime period.

Pyper Friedman took the Tribe's fifth corner of the game, flipping it in to Lonica McKinney. McKinney made a pass to Domovich, who placed it in the back of the net to cap the contest in a pair of overtime minutes.
