WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Women's soccer junior Elaina Longjohn was named the William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Tuesday.

Longjohn was voted as this week's award winner by the Tribe fanbase via social media polls on both the @TribeAthletics Twitter and Instagram accounts. Men's golfer Matthew Feinstein, women's cross country runner Catherine Garrison and football player John Pius were also honored as finalists for the weekly award.

Longjohn helped the Tribe close out the nonconference portion of its schedule with a pair of wins last week. She scored in each of W&M's wins over Longwood and East Carolina. Her goal in the 65th minute on Sunday lifted the Tribe to a 1-0 upset of the Pirates, who entered the week receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches national poll and was coming off a 2-1 win at No. 19 SMU.

The Pittsburgh, Pa., native scored in the second half of the Tribe's 2-0 victory over Longwood on Sept. 15. Longjohn is tied for the team lead with three goals on the year. Her two game-winning goals rank third in the CAA.

A data analytics and data science major, Longjohn has been selected to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll each of her years on campus and is a two-time W&M Provost Award winner thanks to a GPA above 3.5.
