WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis topped Colonial Athletic Association foe Drexel, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon at the Mackey Tennis Center at the Millie West Courts. After dropping the doubles point, the Tribe (6-7), which won for the third time in its last four matches, claimed five of the six singles tilts to secure the victory.
 
The freshman trio of Ine Stange, Hedda Gurholt and Emma Fernald posted straight-set wins to put the Tribe on top 3-1.
 
Stange dropped just three games in a 6-1, 6-2 win over Cristina Corte Gonzalez at No. 6. It marked her ninth win overall and fifth in dual-match competition.
 
Gurholt put the Tribe in front for good with a victory at No. 2. Like Stange, she dropped just three games in disposing of Renata Lombera, 6-2, 6-1. Gurholt ran her season ledger to 18-8 and posted her ninth dual-match triumph.
 
Fernald extended the Tribe margin to 3-1 after moving up to the No. 5 singles position. The Tribe rookie won her fourth match in a row, topping Mya Fuentes, 6-1, 6-3, to improve to 14-8.
 
Senior Mila Saric clinched the Tribe victory, rallying for a three-set win at the top singles post. After dropping the opening set to Lorie Lemongo, 6-2, the No. 81-ranked player in the country dropped just three more games in a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Saric improved to 19-5 on the year and 9-3 at the No. 1 post.
 
Junior Raffaela Alhach rounded out the Tribe victory with a triumph at No. 4 singles. She defeated Aida Garcia Mendez, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, for her third-straight win. Alhach upped her season mark to 14-11 overall with her seventh dual-match win.
