Football Announces 2022 Schedule

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—William & Mary has announced the Tribe's 2022 football schedule, which is highlighted by five home games at Zable Stadium and a season-opening Thursday evening trip to FBS program Charlotte.

Season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at TribeAthletics.com. Additionally, more information about the new streamlined season ticket plans available for the 2022 season is available here.

The Tribe's challenging slate will begin with three non-conference games, two of which will be on the road. After opening the season at Charlotte on Thursday, Sept. 1 in what will be the two programs' first meeting, W&M will host Campbell University the following week (Sept. 10) before a trip to Lafayette College on Sept. 17.

W&M will begin its Colonial Athletic Association slate with a home contest against Elon (Sept. 24) as part of Family Weekend.

After a road game at Stony Brook (Oct. 1), the Tribe will return to Williamsburg for a Homecoming Weekend matchup against longtime rival Delaware on Oct. 8.

Following an open date, W&M will wrap up the month of October with a trip to Towson (Oct. 22) and a home contest versus Rhode Island (Oct. 29).

Although two of its final three games will be on the road, W&M will conclude its schedule in the Commonwealth as it hosts Villanova (Nov. 12) and plays at Hampton (Nov. 5) and Richmond (Nov. 19). The matchup against HU will mark the initial meeting between W&M and the Pirates as conference foes, while the UR game will mark the 133rd time W&M has faced the Spiders when the squads battle for the Capital Cup Presented by C&F Bank in the most played rivalry in the South.

Kickoff times will be announced in the coming months.

W&M is coming off a successful 2021 campaign in which it totaled the program's most wins since 2015 and garnered a national ranking on multiple weeks. Additionally, the Tribe finished the season with the CAA's most productive rushing offense and placed seven standouts on the postseason all-conference team, highlighted by defensive end Nate Lynn, a Buck Buchanan Award Finalist for national defensive player of the year, and quarterback Darius Wilson, the CAA Offensive Rookie of the Year.
