Men’s Tennis Rolls to Home Win over Richmond, 7-0

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's tennis dominated Richmond, 7-0, to pick up its fourth win in the last five matches on Saturday evening at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
 
The Tribe swept doubles for the fourth time in five matches, before winning all six singles matches, including five in straight sets.
 
At the top two doubles positions, the team of graduate student Harrison Brown and junior George Davis as well as the duo of graduate student Chen Ruo and senior Joseph Brailovsky dropped a combined one game in rolling to victories. Brown and Davis won their 10th match of the season, while Ruo and Brailovsky won their sixth in a row to improve to 12-2.
 
Graduate student Finbar Talcott and senior Daniel Pellerito made it a sweep with a 6-4 win on line three.
 
Brown dropped just two games in a win at No. 2, while Brailovsky rolled to a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 4 to increase the Tribe lead to 3-0. Brown won his 11th match of the season, while Brailovsky picked up his seventh.
 
Davis cemented the Tribe win with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Daniel Kliebhan at the top singles post. The Tribe junior won his third in a row, seventh overall and evened his mark to 3-3 at No. 1.
 
Talcott made his season debut in singles action with a straight-set win at No. 5, while freshman Sean Joseph recorded his second dual-match victory of the year on line six. Graduate student Sebastian Quiros rounded out the Tribe's sweep with a come-from-behind three-set triumph at No. 3.
 
Up Next: The Tribe returns to action with its fourth-straight instate foe in James Madison on Saturday, Feb. 26. The match carries an 11 a.m. start time from the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
