WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Women's basketball graduate student
Riley Casey was named the William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery for the fourth time this year on Wednesday.
Casey earned the accolade following a pair of impressive performances on the road at Charleston and UNCW. She scored a season-high 30 points, knocking down five 3-pointers, against the Cougars before tallying 16 points and dishing out six assists in the win at UNCW. Casey scored seven points in the final 48 seconds, including a 3-point play with 26 seconds to go, to lift the Tribe to the 65-63 win.
This season, Casey ranks eighth in the CAA in scoring (15.4) and leads the league in 3-pointers made per game (3.1) and 3-point % (41.6). Nationally, she is seventh in 3-pointers made per game and 34th in 3-point shooting.
Riley earned her bachelor's degree from Columbia in economics in 2021 and is currently enrolled in the MBA program in W&M's prestigious Raymond A. Mason School of Business.
