LYNCHBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis wrapped up the fall season in strong fashion at the Liberty Invitational over the week. Combined over the two-day event, the Tribe amassed a 25-6 singles record and a 10-6 doubles mark competing against UNCG, Liberty, Richmond and Marshall.
 
W&M compiled a winning singles mark against all four teams, including an impressive 11-0 mark against UNCG on Saturday. Against the host Flames, the Tribe won five of seven singles matches and four of five doubles competitions on Saturday as well. On Sunday, the Green and Gold claimed six of its eight singles matches against Marshall.
 
In total, 10 Tribe players won at least two singles matches at the event led by 3-0 marks from seniors Elisa Van Meeteren and Alisia Manolescu, sophomore Emma Fernald and graduate student Alexandra Vesikallio. Sophomore Kensie Cricchio and freshman Emma Pell were both a perfect 2-0 at the event.
 
Senior Raffaela Alhach, sophomores Hedda Gurholt and Ine Stange and freshman Yaelle Vaissaud each went 2-1 in singles action over the two-day event.
 
With her trio of victories, Van Meeteren wrapped up the fall season with a team-best 8-1 singles record, while Fernald finished the fall at 7-3.

In doubles, Fernald and Van Meeteren combined to go a perfect 3-0 at the Liberty Invitational. Cricchio and Manolescu went 2-0 in doubles play, while the rookie pairing of Pell and Vaissaud was 2-1.

The Tribe opens the dual-match season with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 4. W&M welcomes George Washington to the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center at 10 a.m., before facing Norfolk State at 4 p.m.
