Box Score BOSTON, MASS.- William & Mary fell to Northeastern in three sets Saturday afternoon in Boston. Freshman
Nicole Smith led the Tribe with seven kills and
Amy Schwem had 13 assists and four digs in the match, and
Anna Porter had 10 digs over three sets.
The Tribe fell behind in the match early as Northeastern took the first set 25-13. William & Mary could not get the offense going, hitting .000 at the net. Porter paced the team with four digs and
Taylor Burrell and
Nicole Smith each had two kills in the frame.
Sabrina Malcolm added two kills, as did Smith, but it was not enough as the Green and Gold fell 25-15 in the second set. Esposito had three blocks in the frame, while Malcolm and
Eleanor Stothoff added one each.
The Tribe offense came alive in the third frame to hit .281 behind four kills from
Maddie Meyers. Burrell added three more kills and William & Mary would come from behind to tie the third at 24-24 before a pair of Northeastern points would seal the match.
The same two teams will meet again Sunday at 2:00 p.m. to conclude the regular season before traveling to Towson for next weekend's CAA Tournament beginning Thursday morning.
