WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After posting another dominating performance in the football team's victory against No. 17/18 Rhode Island, the Tribe's offensive line was named the William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Tuesday.
The outstanding group, which includes starters
Colby Sorsdal,
Charles Grant,
Rian Haigler,
Bart Francois and
Ryan McKenna, was voted as this week's award winner by the Tribe fanbase via social media polls on both the @TribeAthletics Twitter and Instagram accounts. Women's cross country's Arianna DeBoer and men's soccer's Joe Core were also honored as finalists for the weekly award.
The offensive line helped propel No. 8/9 W&M to a season-high 314 rushing yards in the win versus the nationally ranked Rams, while it did not allow any sacks. During the last three weeks, the Tribe has averaged 295 rushing yards and without allowing any sacks.
Currently on a four-game winning streak and off to its best start since 2009, the Tribe ranks fourth nationally in rushing (261.2) and third in fewest sacks allowed (0.62).
