WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's soccer freshman
Lucas Caldas was selected to the Top Drawer Soccer national midseason top-100 Freshmen List, the website announced this week.
Caldas was one of four Colonial Athletic Association freshmen selected to the national list. He came in a No. 100.
This season, Caldas has appeared in all 16 matches for the Tribe with six starters. He has a goal and two assists on the year.
Caldas scored his first collegiate goal in the 75th minute to lift the Tribe to a 2-0 upset win over then-No. 10 Wake Forest on Oct. 11. He earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors and was selected as the W&M Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery for his efforts.
The Tribe wraps up the regular season with a huge Colonial Athletic Association match, hosting Monmouth on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field and the match will be streamed on FloFC. A Tribe victory would go a long way in potentially clinching a CAA Tournament berth.
