Men's Tennis Continues Fall at the River City Open

RICHMOND, Va. – Graduate student Joseph Brailovsky led the way for William & Mary men's tennis at the River City Open host by Richmond at the Collegiate School. Over the three-day event the Tribe competed against players from Virginia, Virginia Tech, VCU, Navy and Longwood.
 
Brailovsky picked up wins on Friday and Saturday to run his singles win total to a team-best six. He rallied for a three-set win over VCU's Sam Baumgartner, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3, before topping Virginia Tech's Ryan Morgan in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.
 
In action in singles player for the first time during the fall, senior George Davis posted a 6-2, 6-4 win over Virginia Tech's Alberto Orso.
 
Graduate student Andres Silva, sophomore Alexander Karman and freshman Albert Hansen each picked up wins over foes from VCU.
 
In doubles, Davis and graduate student Bill Duo topped the Tribe with a pair of victories. The Tribe tandem notched to an 8-6 win over Virginia Tech's Alberto Orso and Matt Harper, before downing the Hokies Manuel Goncalves and Frank Thompson, 8-3. Davis and Duo are 3-1 on the year.
 
Brailovsky and Silva posted a win over Navy's Aniketh Ayinala and Herrick Legaspi, 8-1, while Hansen and Karman defeated Longwood's Luis Reis and Yoav Weinberg, 8-5
