WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Men's basketball freshman Julian Lewis was named the William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Tuesday.
 
Lewis averaged 12.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in leading the Tribe to  a pair of CAA-opening wins over Hofstra and Northeastern. He scored 11 points against Hofstra, including the game-winning lay-up with just 10.9 seconds remaining as W&M scored four points over the final 15.5 seconds to rally past the Pride, 63-62.
 
In W&M's 71-70 win over Northeastern, Lewis scored a career-high 14 points to go with eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.
 
On the year, Lewis ranks among the top freshmen in the CAA statistically. He is second among first-year players in the league in assists (2.3) and rebounds (4.3) per game and sixth in scoring (6.2).
