RICHMOND, Va. – After posting an outstanding performance in the William & Mary football team's 27-7 victory at Colgate on Saturday, senior safety
Gage Herdman was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week.
A week after recording a 78-yard pick-six in the win against Lafayette, Herdman followed up the impressive effort with a pair of interceptions in the victory at Colgate. Additionally, the Leesburg, Va., native totaled five tackles, four solo, with a quarterback hurry to help W&M limit the Raiders to just a touchdown and 262 total yards.
Herdman's three interceptions this season currently ranks tied for second nationally, while his 98 interception return yards is tied for the country's top mark.
After concluding its non-conference slate with back-to-back wins, W&M will open its CAA schedule at Elon on Saturday at 2 p.m.
