Men's Soccer Wraps Up Regular Season at Elon on Saturday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's soccer wraps up the 2021 spring season when it travels to Elon on Saturday, April 10. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m. from Rudd Field in Elon, N.C.

Things to Know
- The Tribe holds a 7-2-2 advantage in the all-time vs. Elon, including a 2-1-1 mark on the road. W&M is 5-1-2 against the Phoenix since they joined the CAA in 2014. The Green and Gold is unbeaten in its last four against Elon at 3-0-1, including a 2-1 overtime win in Williamsburg last season. Alfredo Bozalongo scored twice off free kicks, including the winner in the 100th minute. In the last trip to Elon, Devin McCarthy scored just before halftime and the Tribe played to a 1-1 draw with the Phoenix.
 
- W&M is 2-3 on the year and sits at 1-2 in CAA play. The Tribe is third in the South Division behind UNCW (2-0-1) and JMU (3-0), who both topped the Green and Gold by slim 1-0 margins. Elon is also 1-2 in the South Division and 2-5 overall. Both JMU and UNCW have secured the division's two berths to the CAA Championship.
 
- Freshman Joe Core was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Midseason Top 100 Freshmen list, coming in at No. 74. Core has started all five matches for the Tribe at the center back position. He is one of three CAA players on the list along the JMU's Alex Krakowiak (No. 19) and Axel Ahlander (No. 43).

- In the Tribe's win over Charleston on March 14, sophomore Alexander Levengood recorded his first career brace in the Tribe's 2-0 victory. In the 38th minute, he got on the end of a Nathan Messer cross to volley home what proved to be the game-winner from eight yards out. He added a second-half penalty kick for his second marker of 2021. Levengood recorded his second career game-winner and increased his career goals total to nine.

- Twice this season, redshirt freshman Will Stack was named the CAA Rookie of the Week. He earned the honor on March 9 after helping the Tribe to a 2-1 double OT win at Mason. He followed up a week later, recording his first career shutout with a save against Charleston. On the year, Stack has 12 saves and sports a goals against average of 0.77 in five matches. His GAA ranks fourth in the CAA.

- Youth is served on the Tribe's roster for the 2021 spring season. Of the 26 players on the roster, 21 are freshmen or sophomores, and there are zeros seniors. In the Tribe's five matches, W&M has started nine freshmen and sophomores among its first XI. Last season, the Tribe started five freshmen in its final 15 matches.
