RICHMOND, Va. – William & Mary men's tennis had its five-match win streak snapped at the hands of No. 44-ranked VCU, 6-1, on Thursday afternoon.

A day after rolling past in-state foe Richmond, the Green and Gold (7-5) suffered its first loss in over a month. Senior Sebastian Quiros provided the lone Tribe team point on the afternoon with a straight-sets win at No. 5.

How It Happened
- VCU (13-4) claimed the doubles point with a pair of narrow 6-4 victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 posts.

- On line five, Quiros won his second match in a row, improving to 7-5 on the year. The Tribe senior dropped just one game in taking the first set from VCU's Quentin Coulaud, 6-1. He pulled out the win cemented the win in second-set tiebreaker, 7-6 (5).
- The top two singles positions each went to third set super tiebreakers. At No. 1, graduate student Brenden Volk rallied from a set deficit, taking the second, 7-5, after Lleyton Cronje won the first, 6-4. The VCU sophomore claimed the third set super breaker, 10-6.
- Like his teammate, graduate student Lev Kazakov rallied from a set deficit to force a third set super breaker.
