WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Women's basketball senior
Sydney Wagner was named the William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Tuesday.
Wagner led the Tribe to a 55-50 win over Norfolk State in its final nonconference game. She tallied a season-high 25 points knocking down 7-of-12 from 3-point range to go along with four rebounds and two assists. The seven 3-pointers tied a career-high and equaled the second-best single-game total in W&M history.
For the season, Wagner is averaging 12.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. She ranks second in the CAA in 3-pointers made per game (2.5), while also coming in ninth in the league in steals, 10th in 3-point % and 16th in scoring.
In the classroom, Wagner is a two-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection.
