Bre Bellamy Named W&M Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Women's basketball junior Bre Bellamy was named the William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Tuesday.
 
Bellamy was voted as this week's award winner by the Tribe fanbase via social media polls on both the @TribeAthletics Twitter and Instagram accounts. Men's basketball's Ben Wight, men's cross country's Jacob Jones and women's cross country Arianna DeBoer were also honored as finalists for the weekly award.
 
Bellamy led the Tribe in scoring in both games last week, including a game-high 15 points in the Tribe's season-opening win over Randolph College on Sunday. In the opener at Coppin State, Bre was a prefect 4-of-4 from the field and led W&M with 11 points.
 
On the year, she ranks 12th in the CAA in scoring at 13 points per game and second in field goal percentage at 83.3% .
 
Bellamy majors in kinesiology and health sciences and last year was named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
