WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Field hockey junior Lauren Curran was named the William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Tuesday.

Curran was voted as this week's award winner by the Tribe fanbase via social media polls on both the @TribeAthletics Twitter and Instagram accounts. Men's Soccer's Alexander Levengood, men's cross country's Jacob Jones and women's tennis's Hedda Gurholt were also honored as finalists.

Curran scored a goal in each of the Tribe's CAA wins over Hofstra and Northeastern last week. She pulled the Tribe even at one in the first quarter against the Pride and notched the game-winning goal with just a second remaining in the first half of the Tribe's win over the Huskies.

Curran currently ranks fifth in the CAA in goals per game (0.5) and eighth in points per game (1.12). She leads the team in goals (4) and points (9) and has scored in each of W&M's last three contests.

She is majoring in kinesiology and health sciences with a concentration in allied health. Last year, Curran was named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
