LYNCHBURG, Va. – A trio of William & Mary men's tennis players advanced to the round of 16 and a doubles team moved on at the ITA Atlantic Regional Qualifying on Friday.
Graduate student
Finbar Talcott won two matches on the day to advance in the singles draw, while senior
Daniel Pellerito and graduate student
Sebastian Quiros, who are both seeded, won one match to pull within a victory of advancing to the Super Regional.
Talcott topped Radford's Andres Silva in three sets in the round of 64, before upsetting No. 8 seeded Carlo Donato of Virginia Tech in straight sets. He improved to 4-1 on the season and will take on No. 12 Deji Thomas-Smith of Liberty in the round of 16 for a spot in the Super Regional.
Qurios, who is seeded No. 13 in the qualifying draw, picked up a three-set win over Radford's Konstantinos Raptis to advance on Friday. He will meet Virginia Tech's Michael Shepeard in the final round on Saturday.
Pellerito, the qualifying draw's No. 16 seed, wasted little time in downing Longwood's Jourdan Kast in dominating fashion, 6-2, 6-1. He meets the top seed Yevhen Sirous of Radford on Saturday with a spot in the Super Regional on the line.

Joseph Brailovsky won their round of 64 matches on Friday before falling in the round of 32.
In the lone round of doubles on Friday, Pellerito and Talcott topped the JMU pair of Josserand and Petrovic, 8-3. The pair takes on the No. 4-seeded Virginia Tech team of Ariza and Maia in the round of 16 on Sunday.
Junior
George Davis and Brown are the No. 3 seed in the doubles draw and received an opening-round bye. The Tribe duo meets the ODU team of Van Schalkwyk and Walser in the round of 16 on Saturday. Brailovsky and Ruo also received an opening-round bye and meet the Liberty pair of Silva and Taramonlis in the round of 16.
Saturday will include two rounds of doubles and one round of singles at the ITA Atlantic Regional Qualifying. The final eight singles players and four doubles teams advance to the ITA Atlantic Super Regional, Oct. 23-25, in Norfolk, Va.
