Complete Team Effort In 13-2 Win Over Georgetown

WILLIAMSBURG, VA- The Tribe's offense exploded as the team dominated Georgetown 13-2 Sunday afternoon at Plumeri Park. Brandon Raquet homered and Hunter Hart scored three runs and knocked in three runs in the matinee. Jack Cone picked up the win for the Tribe tossing six strong innings and striking out a career-high seven batters.

The Tribe would strike early, loading the bases in the first as Ben Williamson led off the inning with a walk. Matt Thomas would single and Brandon Raquet would follow with a walk of his own. Williamson would score on a balk and Thomas would come home on a wild pitch. An RBI groundout from Hunter Hart would drive in Raquet, giving the Tribe a 3-0 lead.

W&M would bat around in the third inning, breaking the game open with five runs. After Thomas and Raquet walked, they would both score as Hart drove a double off the wall in center. Two more runs would score as David Hogarth sent a sharp single to right field making it 8-0.

Georgetown would plate a run in the top half of the fourth, but the Tribe would extend the lead thanks to a two-run blast over the right-field wall from Raquet. W&M would score two more runs in the fourth taking advantage of defensive miscues by the Hoyas making it 12-1.

The visitors would score again in the fifth, but Cone would work a scoreless sixth inning before handing the ball to the bullpen. Matt Howat and Brody Mack combined for three shutout innings in relief. Howat struck out a pair in two innings of work while Mack worked a perfect ninth frame.

Next up is a pair of midweek games for the Green and Gold. The Tribe will visit George Washington Tuesday afternoon before hosting George Mason Wednesday at Plumeri Park.
