Men's Basketball Moves into the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Fresh off a trio of Colonial Athletic Association road wins last week, William & Mary men's basketball moved into the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 on Monday. After earning votes in five of the first nine polls of the season, the Tribe came in at No. 25 in the rankings released on Monday.

W&M was one of two CAA teams in the Mid-Major Top 25 along with Delaware, who was No. 20. Both Charleston and Hofstra were listed among the also receiving votes category. The Tribe garnered its first CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 ranking since coming in at No. 24 on Jan. 11, 2016.

Despite playing 12 of its first 16 games away from home, the Tribe owns an 11-5 record, including a nation-leading seven road wins, in head coach Dane Fischer's first season. W&M became the first CAA program in the 35-year history of the league to win three-straight road games to open conference play.

The Tribe returns home to welcome UNCW on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. The game will be the program's annual Shoeless Showdown, teaming with C&F Bank and Chick-fil-A to raise awareness for children and adults in the area in need of shoes. Fans who donate a pair of new shoes will receive FREE admission to Thursday's game, a coupon for a FREE Chick-fil-A sandwich, $10 coupon toward a new C & F Bank checking account and 2 FREE tickets to an upcoming Tribe game (on Jan. 25 vs. Towson or Feb. 13 vs. Drexel). Donations will be made to Williamsburg FISH, Inc, and are also accepted at any C&F Bank in the Williamsburg area.
