WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's golf team improved eight strokes from the first to second round and jumped four places on the leaderboard as it shot a 604 (+28) in the first two rounds of the William & Mary Invitational on Sunday. The Tribe carded a 306 (+18), before shooting a second-round 298 (+10).
 
Freshman Cindy Zhou burst onto the scene as she paced the Tribe with a 148 (+4) through 36-holes. The rookie carded a 75 (+3) in her first collegiate round, before bettering her score to 73 (+1) in the second round.
 
Both seniors Allison Olberding and Jordan Michalak had strong days for the Green and Gold. Olberding recorded the best first round score for W&M with a 73 (+1), while Michalak had her best day as a member of the Tribe shooting a 77 (+5) in the first round, before lowering her score to a 75 (+3) to finish her day with 152 (+8). Junior Madison Braman also rounded out a solid day with a 73 (+1) in the second round.
 
Playing as an individual, freshman Mimi Taylor is tied for 29th with a 155 (+11), thanks to 74 (+2) in the second round.
 
Notes
The team's 604 (+28) is tied for the 10th-best 36-hole score in school history …  Freshmen Cindy Zhou, Mikah McDonnell, and Mimi Taylor all made their collegiate debut … Senior Jordan Michalak recorded her best career round in the second round 75 (+3) and 36-hole score 152 (+8) … Junior Madison Braman tied her career best round with a 73 (+2) in the second round, while bettering her 36-hole career total with a 154 (+10) … Junior Audrey Pulliam tied her career best round with 80 (+8) and set a new 36-hole score low with 159 (+15).
