Two Late Goals Leads Men's Soccer to 2-2 Exhibition Draw with Mason

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Junior Sam Golan and freshman Alexander Levengood scored in the final 20 minutes to propel William & Mary men's soccer to a 2-2 draw with George Mason in its third and final exhibition contest of 2019.

Despite dominating possession, to the tune of 66% to 34% for the game, the Tribe found itself in a 2-0 hole following a counter-attack goal from Ryan Mingachos in the 65th minute. The Patriots struck first in the eighth minute as Sukrija Dudic slotted home a breakaway chance.

Levengood broke through for the first Tribe goal of the night in the 74th minute. He collected a deflected cross from senior Julian Ngoh at the top of the 18 and scored inside the right post from straight-on 15 yards out to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Despite a marked advantage in possession, shots (10-5) and corner kicks (4-2), W&M needed a Golan goal in the 88th minute to forge the tie. Off a corner kick from freshman Alfredo Bozalongo, the Tribe junior headed the cross off the far post and into the back of the net to tie the match at two.
