VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The sophomore duo of
John Eberle and
James Bradley combined for the lone game in William & Mary men's soccer's 1-0 exhibition victory over Navy on Saturday night at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.
The CAA All-Rookie combo got together in the 24th minute for the match's only tally. Eberle spun in the midfield, 30-yards from goal, and beat his defender toward the right endline. He centered the ball to the middle of the area where Bradley finished into the left side from six yards out.
Playing its first of three exhibition matches in 2019, the Tribe ran its exhibition unbeaten streak to eight matches (4-0-4). W&M is 12-1-8 in exhibition action dating back to 2006.
In total, 22 different Tribe players saw action on Saturday night, including eight freshmen. Navy held a 13-6 advantage in shots, but W&M had a 52 percent to 48 percent cushion in time of possession.
