W&M scored on three-straight possession in the paint, including a Nathan Knight tip-in with 2:42 left to put the Tribe back in front, 62-61. After Brian Fobbs, who scored 18 of his game-high 22 in the second half, hit a jumper to momentary regain the lead for the Tigers, Knight and freshman Chase Audige knocked down four-straight free throws, two apiece, to give the Green and Gold the lead for good.

The Tribe pulled even, 17-17, with an 8-0 capped by a Knight dunk at the 7:37 mark. Defensively, the Green and Gold held Towson without a field goal over the final 5:34 of the first half and outscored the home team, 8-1, during that stretch to take a 25-22 advantage into the locker room.
