WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's basketball team used a total team effort as it rolled by UMBC 76-48 on Saturday afternoon at Kaplan Arena. All of the Tribe's active players saw, at least, 10 minutes of action and contributed in the victory.
Despite spotting UMBC (2-4) the first five points of the game, W&M (4-1) outscored the Retrievers 17-7 in the second quarter, limiting them without a point for the first seven minuets of the period. Leading by four, freshman
Bre Bellamy scored the first eight points of the second quarter to push the Tribe's lead to 30-18 with 4:36 left in the half.
W&M then used 11-1 run to put the game out of reach to open the third quarter. Senior
Victoria Reynolds started the spurt followed by baskets from junior
Nyla Pollard and Bellamy. After a UMBC free throw, junior
Gabby Rogers had a fast-break lay-up and Reynolds canned a 3-pointer to make it 50-28 with 5:01 left in the third.

Eva Hodgson led the Tribe with 16 points in the victory. The sophomore added five rebounds, three assist against no turnovers, and had three steals. Both freshman

Te'yJah Oliver was the game's leading scorer as she finished with 17 points and was the lone Retriever to score in double-figures. She added four rebounds, one assist, in the contest. Janee'a Summers added nine points, seven rebounds, and two blocks, while Paula Rubio finished with eight points.
