LEWISBURG, Pa. – Déjà vu all over again. The William & Mary women's soccer team once again rallied for a pair of goals in the final five minutes to pick up a 3-2 victory at Bucknell on Thursday night. With the win, the Tribe wins its third in a row and improves to 3-3, while Bucknell drops to 2-4-1.
After Bucknell scored a pair of goals three minutes apart, the Tribe found its flair for the dramatic for the second straight game. In the 86th minute, W&M retied the score on a broken play. After senior
Mackenzie Kober had her shot saved the ball bounced a few steps in front of the endline. Waiting there for it was junior
Sully Boulden, who uncorked the rebound just over the goalline.
Just three minutes later, W&M found the back of the net off of a corner kick. Freshman
Renee Kohler sent the ball in and it bounced around dangerously in the box. Eventually, sophomore
Meredith Beam got her foot to it, and placed her shot into the top left corner to lift the Tribe to a 3-2 victory.
Down by a goal late in the second half, the Bison scored a pair of goals in the 79th and 82nd minute to take the lead. Holly Burns sent a corner kick into the penalty area, where Carley Baggot was able to get a head on it and deflect her chance in the goal to level the score.
Bucknell continued its attack and took the lead with a goal three minutes later. After Kate Henesey drew a foul in the box to earn a penalty kick, Claire Mensi stepped to the spot and placed her chance into the middle of the net to give the Bison the 2-1 lead.
W&M jumped on the board first for just the second time this season in the 13th minute. Off of a corner kick, junior
Hannah Keith corralled a loose ball in the penalty area and played the ball back to sophomore
Alex Kuhnle. Kuhnle, who was 22-yards out on the left side, rocketed her shot inside of the right post to make it 1-0 Tribe.

Quotable
"After getting an early goal, it was another game where we had a bad 20-minute stretch in the second half. Bucknell put a ton of pressure on us, and were able to score to take the lead on the corner kick and PK. Once again we regrouped, got control of the possession and made some magic happen. I don't even really know how to describe it, but we've scored four goals in the last five minutes in the last two games to win." –
Head Women's Soccer Coach Julie Shackford
