WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary men's soccer program hosts the 10th annual Crapolfest this weekend, Sept. 21-22. Celebrating the life of former Tribe player Andy Crapol, the event kicks off as the Tribe hosts No. 24 Coastal Carolina on Friday night at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a full Saturday of events.
All proceeds from Crapolfest go towards the Andrew E. Crapol Scholarship Fund. To date, the scholarship fund has raised $400,000. For more information on the cause and the event, visit

The Andrew E. Crapol Men's Soccer Scholarship has been given out since 2009, and sophomore
Sam Golan is the latest recipient of the scholarship. The previous Tribe players to receive the award include Michael DiNuzzo (2009 and 2010), Nicolas Abrigo (2011), former CAA Defender of the Year Will Smith (2012, 2013 and 2014), and Reilly Maw (2015 and 2016). The Tribe's annual Coach's Award was also renamed the Crapol Award in Andy's honor in 2009 as well.
Crapol was a four-year letterwinner for the Tribe who lost his battle with cancer during the spring of 2009. An extremely coachable player, the Williamsburg native played in 38 career matches for the Tribe, scoring four goals, including the game-winner against Coastal Carolina during the 1999 season. He graduated from the College in 2001, earning a degree in economics.
