Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Early Scores, Shutout Lead Men's Soccer to Season Opening Win

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary men's soccer team jumped on the board 51 seconds into the 2018 season and never looked back as it topped Saint Joseph's, 2-0, in the season opener for both teams on Friday night in Williamsburg. Senior Graham Guidry and junior Julian Ngoh each scored in the victory.

The season could not have started any better for the Tribe as it got on the board just 51 seconds into the campaign. Senior Antonio Bustamante found classmate Ryder Bell on the left wing. The senior played an excellent ball to Guidry making a run down the middle of the pitch, and he buried the redirection into the back of the net.

W&M doubled its lead with a nice individual effort from Ngoh just 11 minutes later. The junior dropped his defender on the right side and cut back into the penalty area. From there, Ngoh bent his chance inside the right post to make it 2-0.

Freshman goalkeeper Connor Andrews and the Tribe defense made the two goals standup. Andrews recorded four saves to register his first career clean sheet.
