NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 42 William & Mary women's tennis team saw its three-match win streak come to an end at No. 47-ranked Old Dominion, 6-1, on Friday afternoon. Senior Ekaterina Stepanova provided the Tribe's lone point on the afternoon with her fourth-straight singles victory.
 
Stepanova upended Adriana Rajkovic in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (0), at the No. 5 spot. The Tribe (13-9) senior tallied her 10th dual-match win of the year and improved to 5-1 on line five. Rajkovic suffered just her third loss of the season, dropping to 14-3 in dual match play.
 
The Monarchs (17-4) won their sixth in a row and for the ninth time in the last 10 matches. ODU took the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions to claim the initial point of the match, before winning four of its five singles matches in straight sets. Monarch senior Tori Olivarez topped junior Lauren Goodman, 6-1, 6-3, at the No. 4 spot to clinch the ODU team triumph.
 
Sophomore Natalia Perry rallied from a set deficit to force a third-set super tiebreaker at No. 2 singles. ODU's Nataliia Vlasova, which entered the match at 15-2 in dual-match play, claimed the opening set, 6-3, before Perry answered with a 6-3 triumph of her own in the second.  Vlasova outlasted the Tribe sophomore, 11-9, in the third-set super tiebreaker to round out the Monarch win.
 
The Tribe wraps up the regular season on Sunday, April 15, hosting VCU on Senior Day. The match carries a 1 p.m. start time from the Millie West Tennis Facility, weather permitting. W&M will honor its four-member senior class of Maria Groener, Ekaterina Stepanova, Olivia Thaler and Cecily Wuenscher during the match between doubles and singles action.
