WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Four players scored in double-figures as the William & Mary women's basketball team used a 16-0 run to end the first quarter and start the second as it picked up an important 71-53 Colonial Athletic Association victory against Northeastern at Kaplan Arena on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Tribe improves to 16-8, 7-6 in league action, while the Huskies drop to 12-12, 7-6 in CAA play.
Down 2-0, Northeastern scored five straight points to take a 5-2 lead and build its largest lead of the contest just 2:30 minutes into the game. Shannon Todd opened the Huskies scoring with a triple, before Gabby Giacone gave NU the three-point cushion with a lay-up.
After Claudia Ortiz hit a 3-pointer to regain the Northeastern lead at 13-12, W&M exploded on a 16-0 run to end the opening stanza and open the second. Senior

Nari Garner hit a 3-pointer to make 19-13. The Tribe closed the quarter with a Green jumper, before the senior found freshman
Nyla Pollard on a breakaway lay-up before the buzzer to give W&M a 23-13 lead at the end of one. W&M scored the first five points of the second quarter, all from junior
Bianca Boggs to make it 28-15 with 7:36 left in the half.
Late in the third quarter, Northeastern cut the Tribe lead back to 15, but W&M responded with back-to-back triples from Boggs and Garner. That ballooned the Tribe's cushion to 52-31, which was its largest lead of the game. The Huskies could only bring the score back to 11 at the beginning of the fourth quarter as the Tribe cruised to an 18-point triumph.

Victoria Reynolds each scored a game-high 19 points to pace the Tribe in the victory. Boggs chipped in six rebounds, six assists, one block, and three steals, while Reynolds added six rebounds, three assists, and three blocks. Sophomore
Nari Garner was in double-figures for the third straight game as she connected on four 3-pointers to finish with 12 points. Senior
Abby Rendle rounded out the double-figure scorers with a double-double. The senior scored 11 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, three assists, four blocks, and two steals.
Shannon Todd led the Huskies with 13 points and led four players in double-figures. Claudia Ortiz finished with 11 points, while Loren Lassister matched a career-high with 11 points and had a double-double with 11 boards. Stella Clark added 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

- W&M shot 49.2-percent (29-for-59) from the field in the victory, which improved the Tribe to 9-1 when shooting better than 45-percent.
- The Tribe won the rebounding battle, 40-35, over Northeastern, which improved the team's record 6-2 when it wins the rebounding battle.
