WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's basketball team used an 8-0 first quarter run and never looked back as it topped previously unbeaten East Carolina (5-1), 63-43, at Kaplan Arena on Tuesday night. Junior
Victoria Reynolds paced the Tribe with 15 points and 15 rebounds as the Green and Gold improved to 3-2 with the victory.
W&M knocked down four of its first five field goals in the opening period to grab an 8-4 lead. Senior
Bianca Boggs started the run with her 1,000th career point and capped it on a layup. The Pirates came within one, before W&M closed out the period with a 10-2 sprint. Reynolds scored five straight-points and redshirt sophomore
Harper Birdsong added another five consecutive-points to lift the Tribe to a 24-15 advantage.
Both teams experienced cold-shooting in the second period as neither side made a field goal until the 4:51 mark. However, a pair of key 3-pointers allowed the Tribe to sustain its lead, 32-25, at the end of the frame. Emma Krause canned the second triple from the left side with 2:07 remaining.
The Green and Gold built up its double-digit margin in the third quarter and never let up. W&M started the frame red-hot after producing a 12-1 blitz. Freshman
Eva Hodgson made a fast-break layup, before Reynolds made a pair of free throws. Boggs then found Hodgson at the top of the key for her second 3-pointer. The run was concluded with two more free throws from Reynolds and a Krause triple.

Raven Johnson paced ECU with a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds. She was the lone Pirate in double-figures, but Jade Lewis added eight points off the bench, while Lashonda Monk had eight steals in the game.
Inside the Numbers
- The Tribe dominated the glass with a 58-29 advantage in rebounds.
- W&M held ECU to 25-percent (17-of-68) from the floor, which was the best defensive performance of the season for the Tribe.
- The Green and Gold executed well on the run scoring 19-fast-break points.
- From the charity stripe, W&M made 83 percent of its free throws, while ECU finished at 44 percent. It was the first time this season the Tribe got to the free throw line more than its opponent.
