W&M is coming off a 23-0 setback against then-No. 24/23 Colgate in its home opener last Saturday and owns a 1-3 overall record and a 0-1 mark in league play.
Quarterback
Shon Mitchell posted one of his best performances of the season last weekend, as he completed 27 of 39 passes for 251 yards against Colgate. Wide receiver
DeVonte Dedmon continued his impressive play and totaled a career-high 10 catches for 104 yards against the Raiders.
Defensively, safety
Isaiah Laster leads the team with 28 tackles, while safety
Gage Herdman has forced a turnover in two consecutive games.
After opening its season with back-to-back lopsided losses at Pittsburgh and Rhode Island, Albany bounced back with a pair of victories against Morgan State and Saint Francis (PA) heading into last weekend's open date.
Led by quarterback Vincent Testaverde, Albany currently ranks second in the CAA in passing offense (295.5) and is averaging 397.0 total yards per game. Wideout Dev Holmes has played a big role in that success and leads the league with 146.8 receiving yards per game.
UA has struggled with turnovers and ranks last in the conference in turnover margin (-5), while it is allowing 33.2 points per game. Linebacker Levi Metheny has come up big defensively with 32 tackles and a team-high 4.0 TFL.
Saturday's game will mark the first meeting between W&M and UA.
