WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to UNC Greensboro in its non-conference finale on Sunday afternoon at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field. With the decision, the Tribe slips to 4-5, while the Spartans improve to 3-5-1.
UNC Greensboro's Quiqui Hita scored the game's lone goal in the 59th minute. After a corner, the Tribe failed on a clearance and the ball ended up on the feet of Emily Jensen. Jensen flicked to Hita, who was all alone at the penalty area, and she fired her shot into the lower right corner of the goal.
Despite the setback, W&M controlled every facet of the match, but the score. W&M outshot UNCG by a 19-5 margin, including a 6-3 margin in shots on goal. Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper had six saves in the shutout victory for the Spartans.
