TOWSON, Md. – The William & Mary baseball team saw its season-best five-game winning streak come to an end following a 7-1 setback at CAA foe Towson on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Tribe falls to 24-21 overall and 8-6 in conference play, while the Tigers improve to 16-24, 4-10 in CAA action.

Owen Socher finished 2-for-4 at the plate to lead W&M's offense. Senior
Ryder Miconi recorded a double, while redshirt sophomore
Kyle Wrighte drove in a run.

Bodie Sheehan provided six solid innings for the Green and Gold, striking out three and surrendering just one run on five hits.
Charlie Fletcher was charged with his first loss after posting a strikeout and allowing three runs, all of them earned, on one hit.
A duo Michael Adams and Dean Stramara combined to hold the Tribe to just one run for Towson. Adams fanned five batters and gave up one run on four hits in six innings, while Stramara hurled three innings with four K's and just one hit allowed to garner win.
The Tribe left runners in scoring position in both the first and third inning, but managed to break up the scoreless tie in the top of the fourth. After the first out, freshman
Patrick Ryan was hit by a pitch, and Socher followed up with a single to third base. A wild pitch advanced both Ryan and Socher, before a fielding error at third base allowed Ryan to score, giving W&M a 1-0 lead.
The Tigers answered in the home half of the sixth with one run on one hit. Colin Gimblet led off the frame with a walk, and moved to second on a groundout to first base. On the next at bat, Billy Lennox hit a RBI single through the left side, evening the contest at 1-all.
Towson went on to take its first lead of the afternoon in the bottom of the seventh. After two outs and a walk, Richie Palacios hit a RBI triple to right center. Back-to-back walks loaded the bases, before Lennox singled up the middle to plate two more runs and provide the Tigers a 4-1 advantage.
The Tigers registered another three-run inning in bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on each corner, Gimblet hit a RBI single through the left side. The next batter, Richard Miller notched Towson's second triple to bring home a pair of runs and stretch the margin to 7-1.
In the top of the ninth, Wrighte reached on a fielding error by the shortstop with one out. Nonetheless, Ameer came into pinch hit and struck out and
Brandon Raquet grounded out, concluding the contest.
The three-game conference series concludes tomorrow with first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
