Women's Basketball Closes Home and Home Series With Hofstra Tuesday at Kaplan Arena

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's basketball team looks to get back into the win column as they close a home and home series with Hofstra on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Kaplan Arena. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.

The William & Mary women's basketball team looks to even the season series as they close a home and home series with Hofstra at Kaplan Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The Tribe continues a stretch of five games in 10 days as they close a set of three games in five days. The Green and Gold and Hofstra meet for the 41st time in series history

Last Time Out
The William & Mary women's basketball couldn't survive Hofstra's fourth quarter comeback, falling on the road 64-61 on Sunday afternoon. Senior Alexandra Masaquel led three Tribe players in double-figures with 12 points, and just missed a double-double grabbing nine rebounds. Classmate Marlena Tremba added 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a team-high three steals. Junior Jenna Green rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points, three rebounds, and five dimes.

Scouting the Pride
Hofstra looks to sweep the season series from William & Mary as they make the return trip to Williamsburg on Tuesday night. The Pride is 9-12, 2-8 in league action. For the year, Hofstra is averaging 61.9 points per game. Ashuane Durant leads the Pride with 16.0 points per game. Krystal Luciano is the only other player in double-figures with 10.6 points a night. The Pride is strong on the glass, averaging 40.9 rebounds a night. Durant leads the way averaging a double-double with 11.5 rebounds a night. Sandra Dongmo is second on the squad with 5.9 rebounds. Krista Kilburn-Stevesky is in her 11th season as the head coach of Hofstra. She has posted a 187-151 mark during her time on the Island.

Series History
The Green and Gold and Hofstra meet for the 41st time in series history. Today's is a make-up game set originally for Jan. 8, and will close the season series. Hofstra leads the all-timer series 30-9-1, including winning the last three games in the series. The Pride also cameback to pick up a 64-61 in the first game this year just 51 hours ago. Senior Alexandra Masaquel led three Tribe players in double-figures in the first game with 12 points and nine rebounds in Sunday's game. Classmate Marlena Tremba chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds, while junior Jenna Green had 10 points and five helpers.

The Road Ahead
W&M concludes its stretch of three of four on the road as they travel to Drexel for a game on Friday, Feb. 10. That game will also tipoff at 7 p.m. Following Friday's game W&M opens a two-game homestand starting with Towson on Sunday, Feb. 12. Tip time between the Tribe and Tigers is set for 2 p.m.
