WILMINGTON, N.C. – Both senior
Sydney Biniak and sophomore
Autumn Brenner made school history as the William & Mary volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-20) decision at CAA foe UNCW on Friday night. Biniak surpassed 400 kills on the year, and Brenner became the active leader in career assists in the current scoring era to highlight the Tribe's (5-24, 2-13) penultimate match of the season with the Seahawks (10-17, 4-11 CAA).
Biniak joined elite company as one of only three other W&M players to ever exceed 400 single-season kills. The last to do so was
Erin Skipper '08 (419) back in 2008. Binaik and Skipper are the only two players to accomplish the feat in the rally scoring era. The four-year captain tied a team-high eight kills against UNCW to bring her season total to 405.
Brenner replaced
Cassie Crumal '10 as W&M's career assist leader in the 25-point record books. The McLean, Va., native needed just seven helpers to set the new standard coming into the match, and dished a team-best 17 to bring her career assist total to 1,415. Brenner also chipped in six digs and served an ace.

Quotable
"I thought we started off strong and were running our offense well. As the set wore on, our serve receive broke down and our offense became predictable. We had some moments of brilliance and some moments where we allowed the other team to get a run of too many points. Sunday is a wonderful opportunity for us to play Tribe Volleyball and send the seniors out in style." – head coach
Melissa Ferris.
