Reeves Trott put away a rebound in the 25th minute and redshirt senior goalkeeper
Phil Breno made three saves as the William & Mary men's soccer team punched its ticket to its second-straight CAA title game with a 1-0 victory over host and top-seeded James Madison on Friday night. With the win, the Tribe improved to 10-4-5, while the Dukes conclude the year with 9-7-3 mark.
The Tribe jumped on the board with the match's lone goal in the 25th minute. Junior
Ryder Bell drove the left side of the box, before uncorking his shot off the near post. The rebound played perfectly to Trott, who cleaned up the mess, putting W&M up 1-0.
Breno and the Tribe defense made the one goal standup with a solid effort all night. The redshirt senior made three saves in the contests, while he faced eight shots. The Dukes turned up its pressure late in the contest, but the Tribe survived a final minute corner with all 11 Dukes in the box. The Tribe cleared the ball to senior
William Eskay, who raced up the sideline, but his last second shot into the empty net was ruled after the time expired.
