The William & Mary volleyball team started the year with a five-set match back in August, and Saturday night at Kaplan Arena finished the year with another five-set thriller, falling to Delaware 3-2. The Tribe finished the season at 8-21 overall and 2-14 in the Colonial Athletic Association, while the Blue Hens locked up the final CAA tournament spot at 13-15 (8-8 CAA).
It was a career night for a number of players, including
Maddie Sanford (Georgetown, Texas), who finished her career with a bang hitting .409 with 13 kills, both all-time bests. Freshman
Alex Stein (East Setauket, N.Y.) led the team with a career-best 17 kills, while also setting an all-time high with three aces and a double-double with 15 digs. Junior
Sara Zumbach (Franklin, Tenn.) also tied her career-high with three aces, and led all players with 22 digs on the night.
Also of note, junior

Paige Humphrey (Oak Hill, Va.) had eight kills and three blocks, two of them solo. Senior
Kristen Larrick (Bethesda, Md.) had another eight kills in her final match, and classmate

Jill Hannah '98 atop the all-time list. Freshman
Autumn Brenner (McLean, Va.) dished out 59 assists, nine digs, and a pair of aces, and
Samantha Conway (Mechanicsville, Va.) had another ace and 15 digs to round out the notables.
Tonight was the final match of four seniors - Sanford (who is graduating after just three years with very close to a perfect GPA), Larrick, Pe, and
