The William & Mary volleyball team hosted Hofstra on Friday night at Kaplan Arena, forcing each of the final two sets to the full 25-23 count before falling, 3-0. The Tribe moves to 8-14 overall and 2-7 in the Colonial Athletic Association, while the Pride improved to 16-6 and 6-3 in league play. The night was also W&M's annual "Dig Pink" match benefitting the Side-Out Foundation, and thanks to the outstanding generosity of Tribe fans, friends, and family, the Green and Gold raised more than $1,500 for treatment and research of stage 4 breast cancer. On the court, top honors on the night went to junior
Sydney Biniak (Elkridge, Md.), who hit .409 with 11 kills to lead W&M. Her classmate
Paige Humphrey (Oak Hill, Va.) had eight kills on a .333 attack to go with a match-igh two blocks, and senior
Kristen Larrick (Bethesda, Md.) hit .455 with six more kills for her night. Freshman
Casey Foote (Prospect, Ky.) made seven kills to go with 13 digs, and fellow rookie
Alex Stein (East Setauket, N.Y.) had six kills and no errors on a .667 attack.
Away from the net, junior
Sara Zumbach (Franklin, Tenn.) led all players with 19 digs on the night, and now stands at 980 in her career in 71 matches. If she can total 20 digs in the next three matches, she'll become the fastest player to reach 1,000 digs in school history. Senior
Gabrielle Pe (Virginia Beach, Va.) also had a big night with 18 digs, and now has 960, just 40 away from 1,000 in her career. Sophomore
Katie Kemp (Brentwood, Tenn.) dished out 36 aassists on the night to go with seven digs, an ace, and a block.
