Box Score The William & Mary volleyball team fell to ACC-foe Virginia on Saturday afternoon, 3-0, in the second game of the AU Eagle Invitational.  The Tribe is 5-7 on the season, while the Cavaliers improved to 7-3 overall.
Box ScoreEven in a loss, there was plenty to be optomistic about, including that the Tribe improved through every set.
  Three players hit over .333, including sophomore 
Sydney Biniak (Elkridge, Md.) who led all players in the match with nine kills.  Senior 
Dessi Koleva (Torrance, Calif.) had eight kills on a .353 attack, and also had eight digs, an ace, and a block.  Fellow senior 
Carolyn Albright (Raleigh, N.C.) also hit .353 with seven kills, and chipped in on a block.
Also of note, sophomore 
Paige Humphrey (Oak Hill, Va.) had five kills and a team-best two blocks, and classmate 
Sara Zumbach (Franklin, Tenn.) had a match-high 10 digs.  Junior 
Gabrielle Pe (Virginia Beach, Va.) had 17 assists and 
Katie Kemp (Brentwood, Tenn.) 15 helpers, and freshman 
Grace DiClementi (Leesburg, Va.) made her first Tribe appearance memorable with a service ace.  Rookie 
Heather Pippus (Lake Oswego, Ore.) rounded out the notables with a good defensive performance, nine digs and a block.
William & Mary is back in action this afternoon, taking on UMBC at 4:30 p.m. in the final non-conference match of the season.
