RICHMOND, Va. – By virtue of winning the regular season title, the William and Mary men's basketball team will be the No. 1 seed in the 2015 CAA Men's Basketball Championship. The four-day tournament will be held March 6-9 at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Md.
W&M finished the regular season at 18-11 overall and 12-6 in CAA play, finishing atop the league standings with UNCW (17-12, 12-6), Northeastern (20-11, 12-6) and James Madison (19-12, 12-6). The Tribe will face the winner of eighth-seeded Elon (14-17, 6-12) and No. 9 Towson (12-19, 5-13) in the first CAA quarterfinal on Saturday, March 7, at noon. The Phoenix and Tigers square off in the first game of the tournament on Friday, March 6, night at 6 p.m. All quarterfinals will be televised by the Comcast SportsNet family of networks as well as several other regional outlets.
The semifinal games of the CAA Men's Basketball Championship are set for 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, with the two winners facing off for the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 9. The semifinals and championship game will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network.
