HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The William & Mary women's soccer team fell in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship 3-2 to James Madison on Sunday afternoon at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in Hepstead, N.Y. Freshman

Rachel Moore tallied goals for the Green and Gold in the match. With the decision, the Tribe falls to 14-4-2, while the Dukes, which earn the CAA's automatic bid, improve to 14-6-2.
The Tribe controlled the play for the majority of the first half, and fired two shots on goal in the first 15 minutes. The first came on a shot from sophomore
Sami Grasso, but Ellen Forrest made the save. Kober followed up with a shot in the 15th minute, that was saved out of bounds by Forrest.
On the ensuing corner kick, senior
Nicole Baxter sent the ball that found the head of classmate
Katie Johnston. Johnston's header deflected to the corner of the goalmouth where Kober headed into the back of the net.
W&M continued mount its offensive pressure and got its second goal of the afternoon in the 39th minute. Senior
Leci Irvin sent a cross into the box that was flicked up by junior
Haley Kavanaugh. Following the play all the way down the pitch was Moore, who cleaned up the mess by firing her shot into the top right corner of the goal. Her fifth marker of the season gave W&M a 2-0 lead.
The lone chance for James Madison in the first half was a header shot by Ashley Herndon that was headed wide of the frame.
James Madison cut the lead to one with a goal just two minutes into the second half. Jennie Sroba sent ball that found Kelly Kerrigan. Kerrigan sent a cross into the box that found Herndon. Herndon put the ball into the back of the net, and making the score 2-1.
W&M nearly regained a two-goal advantage in the 68th minute. A ball bounced to the top of the 18-yard box, and waiting for it was Grasso. The sophomore uncorked a shot that was pushed to the crossbar by Forrest. The deflection was played to safety by the Dukes defense.
The Dukes found the equalizer in the 75th minute, when Allie Bunner sent a cross into the box that found Herndon. Her one touch found the back of the net, tying the score 2-2.
W&M had a pair of shots in the 81st and 82nd minute that were just off target. Johnston sent a chance wide, before Grasso missed just high.
JMU found the game-winner in the 85th minute. Sydney Braun-McLeod sent a cross into the box from the right side of the field. Bunner was able to get to the ball in time to send it into the left corner of the goal. The tally lifted the Dukes to a 3-2 advantage.
The Green and Gold desperately tried to find the equalizer, but only fired one shot in the match's final five minutes. Moore was able to get a foot to a ball, but her shot sailed high.
Despite the setback, W&M held a 17-8 advantage in shots, which included a 7-5 lead in shots on-goal. Grasso led the Tribe with six shots, while Moore had four on the afternoon. Senior goalkeeper
Caroline Casey recorded a pair of saves in goal for the Tribe.
W&M had three players named to the CAA All-Tournament team following the match. Senior

Haley Kent and
Elysse Branton were named to the squad.
The Tribe, which had an RPI of No. 29 coming into the weekend, will await its NCAA Tournament fate until tomorrow. The Women's Soccer NCAA selection show will revel the field of 64 tomorrow, Monday, November 9 at 4:30 p.m.
