William and Mary's recently completed Celebration of Women's Athletics was a resoundingly successful event that brought together more than 175 present and former Tribe athletes, administrators, coaches and supporters.
The 2015 version of the now six-year old event was a multi-faceted opportunity for William and Mary's female athletes to engage and interact with a wide range of professionals with ties to the athletics department.
From a robust networking session, to a series of outstanding speakers during the event's award's ceremony, there was a wealth of positive takeaways for all in attendance.
The video above captures some of the highlights from the engaging featured speakers, while the photo gallery below reflects the positive energy that was present throughout.
Even better, the important conversation of the positive effect on women's lives that athletics can play will continue throughout the year through a series of Women in Action events. For information on the next planned event, please contact William and Mary's Senior Women's Administrator, Peel Hawthorne '80 (pshawt@wm.edu/757.221.3360), or Assistant Tribe Club Director, Carey Goodman (cmgoodman@wm.edu/757.221.6325).
The fact that the Tribe athletics receives no state funding means it depends heavily on the generosity of donors for crucial resources. A donor can earmark 100% of any donation directly to support a specific sport (or sports,). Donations to "Women in Action" are split amongst the women's sports.
