The William & Mary volleyball team fell in a tough road contest at Elon on Wednesday night, 3-0. The Tribe moves to 8-16 on the year and 2-9 in the CAA, while the Phoenix improved to 6-19 (2-9 CAA).
The Tribe's night was led by senior
Dessi Koleva (Torrance, Calif.), who had her team-leading sixth double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs on a .310 attack. Sophomore
Sara Zumbach (Franklin, Tenn.) had a match-high 17 digs, and classmate
Sydney Biniak (Elkridge, Md.) had eight kills and a block.
Also of note, junior
Gabrielle Pe (Virginia Beach, Va.) had 12 assists and six digs, and sophomore
Austyn Ames (Wichita, Kan.) had 10 more helpers. Freshman
Heather Pippus (Lake Oswego, Ore.) had 13 digs, five kills, and an ace.
W&M's road trip continues on Sunday, with a 1 p.m. match at Delaware.
