SPECIAL TEAMS
Senior John Carpenter returns as the Tribe's starting punter and place kicker after earning third-team All-CAA honors as a kicker last season. The Cumberland, Md., native has a strong and accurate leg and ranked second in the conference in field goals made per game (1.25) and fifth in field goal percentage (71.4) last season. As a punter, he averaged nearly 40 yards per kick and pinned the opposition inside their own 20-yard line with 20 of his 64 efforts. Carpenter (6-1, 190) will also handle kickoff duties for the third consecutive season after totaling 20 touchbacks on his 55 kickoffs last fall.

Honored as the 2013 CAA Special Teams Player of the Year, senior Tre McBride will once again be W&M's top kick returner after ranking 15th nationally with 27.5 ypr last season – a figure that ranks second on W&M's single-season list. McBride possesses excellent vision and speed, which should lead continued success this fall.

Senior Sean Ballard returns as the Tribe's primary punt returner, as the squad hopes he can translate his big-play production as a wide receiver into an all-conference caliber standout on special teams. As a wideout last fall, he ranked third in the CAA with 16.5 yards per catch and recorded six 40+ yard receptions.

Senior Bo Revell will once again serve as the team's starting long/short snapper after occupying the positions last season, while junior Christian Brumbaugh is in line to be the primary holder.
