The William and Mary men's golf team finished play at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Tuesday, piling up a score of 923 (+59) through three rounds to finish in 12th place out of 17 teams.  USC-Aiken won the tournament at 888 (+24), one stroke ahead of Presbyterian.  VCU's Adam Ball was the individual medalist after a third-round 66 (-6) gave him a score of 212 (-4) for the week.

The Tribe's top performer was junior Alex Hicks (Cape May Court House, N.J.), who shot a 75 (+3) in the final round to finish with a total of 222 (+6), good for a tie at sixth place.  It was his third top-10 finish in five tournaments this year.  Freshman Austin Morrison (Charlotte, N.C.) tied for 38th at 230 (+14), one stroke ahead of Davis Morrison (Charlotte, N.C.), tied for 44th at 15-over (231).  Senior Will Smith (Avon, Conn.) tied 71st at 24-over, and junior Joey Shroyer (Victoria, Minn.) rounded out the team in 87th place.  As a team, the Tribe collected 28 birdies for this year's "Birdies for Breast Cancer" campaign.

After just a couple days at home for classes and laundry, William and Mary gets back on the road this weekend for the Snowman Getaway, Sunday-Tuesday Feb. 23-25.  The 54-hole event is being held once again at Goodyear Golf Club, in Phoenix, Ariz.
