The William and Mary women's golf team wrapped up play at the W&M Fall Invitationalon Tuesday, carding a 313 in the final round at Kingsmill to finished third overall in the nine-team tournament.  Morehead State (881, +29) won by 17 strokes over runner-up Elon (898, +46), while the Tribe finished the three-day event at 903 (+51).  Elon's Sunna Vidisdottir slid by Morehead's Anna Appert Lund with a 70 on Tuesday to win the individual medal by a single stroke, 215 (+2) to 216.

The Tribe's 54-hole team score is tied for the fourth-best in school history and didn't even include junior Kelly Okun (Palm Beach, Fla.), who matched the day's best round with a 70 (-1) to leap up six spots to finish third overall at 218 (+5) while playing as an individual.  Sophomore Tina Chang (Mineola, N.Y.) did count towards the team total, finishing with a 74 and tied for fourth overall at 219 (+6).  Freshman Kelly McGovern (The Woodlands, Texas) had a 77 in the final round of just her second collegiate tournament, and tied for sixth with a three-day score of 220 (+7).  Okun's total of 5-over is a school-record for a par-71 tournament, and the third-best 54-hole score in program history.  Chang is now tied for fourth all-time at W&M with her 6-over effort, and McGovern enters the record book in a tie for the sixth-best score in school history.

Also competing as an individual, sophomore Alessandra Liu (Cynwyd, Pa.) finished 17th overall at 230 (+17), two strokes ahead of junior Kellie Edelblut (New Hope, Pa.) who tied for 19th.  Freshmen Kelly Moran (Boulder, Colo.) and Mia Zanghetti (Jacksonville, Fla.) both tied for 24th at 235 (+22), and junior Anna McMullen (Monroe, La.) rounded out the team effort in 31st overall at 240 (+27).

William and Mary now has most of two weeks off, before returning to the links on Friday-Sunday, Sept. 27-29, at the Nittany Lion Invitational in State College, Pa.
